Student life in Vienna can be pretty tough. That’s why it is even more important to balance out the stress in your free time. After extensive research, we have found the best student bars in Vienna, where you can take a break from everyday university life and switch off for an evening or two!

1. Let’s be Frank

Formerly known under the name of “Das Mozart’s”, Let’s be Frank spoils starved students who find themselves in its cozy interior with excellent food. From traditional Austrian cuisine to American classics, the restaurant focuses on the flexitarian diet. However, no student pub is complete without a comprehensive beer selection. Let’s be Frank does not disappoint in this category either.

Regardless of whether you are looking for a place to relax after an afternoon of strolling along Mariahilfer Straße or you want to have a great meal before the upcoming party night: Let’s be Frank is definitely the right thing for you!

2. Das Käuzchen

The Käutzchen can be summed up in one word: rustic. In this small, winding restaurant, you can look forward to delicacies of all kinds. For over 30 years the Käuzchen is a true traditional eatery and for good reason. The traditional Viennese cuisine here impresses with seasonal dishes and timeless classics. If you want to have a spontaneous beer tasting, you will also find a comprehensive selection of fine beers at the Käutzchen.

Entertainment is also provided. Every Tuesday you can put your knowledge to the test and take part in the weekly pub quiz. Many other events take place, too. In order not to deprive their guests of the Viennese summers, a pub garden is set up every year as well. The Käutzchen is therefore also perfect for mild summer evenings with friends.

3. Café Telegraph

Our tip for avocado lovers: Try the avocado burger! You will be positively surprised. It is also great as a café for studying, not least because of the free WiFi.

In spring and summer, we recommend a visit in the evening because you will be able to enjoy the summery atmosphere of Vienna to the full with a Spritzer (or two) in the garden.

Café Enzo is only four minutes away from the main building of the University of Vienna and is therefore the perfect oasis of well-being after a hectic day filled with lectures and exams.

We would like to recommend Café Einstein to anyone who longs for a classic pub close to the university. The café is only three minutes away from the main building of the University of Vienna and lies directly on the edge of the beautiful Rathauspark. It offers a charming atmosphere that is perfect for sitting together and leaning back.

The best thing about it: Due to the long opening hours, you can give yourself a lot of time to enjoy yourself and treat yourself to a break from everyday university life. 6. Das Werk

Das Werk is a trendy place where art and enjoyment are equally important. Right at the Danube Canal, you can enjoy numerous concerts, public readings and even markets with regional products.

In the summer months, the entire restaurant is moved outside, where the surrounding buildings are decorated with artistic projections. Thus, the Werk is a location with carefree charm, in which you will be spoiled with culinary art and culture!

7. Polkadot
