DECLARATION OF DATA PROTECTION

Protecting your personal data is of very high importance to us. Hence, we exclusively process your data based on the principles established by the (DSVGO, TKG 2003). In the following paragraphs about data privacy protection, we will inform you about the most important aspect of data processing in the context of our website.
The provision of data to the processor is based on an adequacy decision by the European Commission.

Contact us
In case you get in contact with us via the form provided on our website or via e-mail, your data will be stored for the purpose of processing and, in case of follow-up questions, for a total of twelve months. Your data will not be forwarded without your approval.

Data storage
The following information will be saved server-sided for the purpose of contract processing: name, postal address, date of birth, nationality, field of study, bank data, desired move-in date and the receiving date of the application. The data provided by you is essential for the conclusion of the contract.

Without the data, the contract cannot be closed. The transmission of your data to third parties does not take place, with the exception of your bank data being forwarded to the respective banking institution in order to debit the of cost-related charges from your bank account. Additionally, the data is necessary for the posting of invoices in our outsourced booking department.

With the expiration of the contract, all data personal data will be deleted. With the conclusion of the data contract, the data related to the contractual relationship will be stored for seven years in an encrypted format. This is due to the statutory data retention period. If no contract comes into existence, the provided data will be deleted from the system within a twelve-month period.

The data processing is based upon the legal regulations under Art. 96 Par. 3 TKG as well as Art. 6 Par. 1 lit. a (consent) and/or lit. b (contract fulfilment) of the GDPR.

Cookies
Our website uses three types of cookies.
• Temporary cookies, which are only stored until the browser is closed. These so-called session-cookies are necessary to identify the user’s session. To do this a 32-character long code (e.g. “39f72b72baa21f3bb19d0bac95161617“) is stored on the user’s device and deleted as soon as the browser is closed.
• Permanent cookies
These are only used to save the users selected language. If a user switches the site’s language to English, the web browser stores a cookie storing this information and the next time the user visits the site the page is automatically switched to English.
• 3rd party cookies
External integrated scripts (e.g. Google Analytics or Social Sharing Buttons by Facebook, …) can also store cookies on a user’s system.

We use our cookies to improve on the usability of our service. Some cookies are stored on a user’s device until deleted, these enable us to recognize the user on a later visit.

If you do not want this, you can set your web browser to inform you whenever cookies would be stored and give you the possibility to deny it.
If you deactivate cookies the quality of our service might suffer.

Web-Analyses
Our service uses the Google Analytics service. This is done using cookies, which allow to analyse the users. All data gathered in this is transferred to the providers server and stored there.
You can prevent this by setting your browser to never store cookies.
We have reached a corresponding agreement with the provider for contract data processing.

All data processing is in accordance with legal regulations § 96 (3) TKG as well as Art 6 (1) lit a (consent) and/or f (justified interest) of the GDPR.

All data collected is pseudonymized and only used to improve our service and marketing.

If you do not authorize Google Analytics to process your data, you can deactivate it by clicking the following link. After that, Google Analytics will no longer be included on the STUWO website (from the next page view). This setting is stored on your device via a cookie, so you may need to repeat this procedure on other devices.

Your rights
In principle, you have the rights to information, correction, deletion, restriction, data portability, revocation and opposition. If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law or if your data protection claims have otherwise been violated in a way, you can complain to the supervisory authority. In Austria, this is the data protection authority.
