Urban Art Festival Styria 2023 at STUWO StudentCity Graz

Student life meets art again at the Urban Art Festival Styria this year. In June 2019, the STUWO dormitory StudentCity Graz hosted the “Future Icons Festival” – an international festival for street art, graffiti and young innovative art – for the first time. The residence manager Christa Lorenz came up with the idea to turn the apartment building of STUWO StudentCity Graz into a “piece of art”. Since then numerous works of art and installations were added to the inside and outside areas as well as the underground parking. This year the STUWO dormitory once again becomes an open-air gallery and art laboratory. Workshops, urban art and live music await you.

This year‘s Urban Art Festival Styria promises a colourful programme and insight into the future art scene. The festival takes place from the 26^th of June to the 1^st of July in Graz and in Eastern Styria.

The visitors of the Urban Art Festivals can expect an interesting and diverse programme. The initiators of the Urban Art Festival want to open up the art scene and current developments to the audience with street art, graffiti, jams, exhibitions, a giant “Public Art Gallery“, workshops, talks, sound and light installations as well as live concerts by international artists and groups.

The Top Acts: What you can expect at the Urban Arts Festival Styria

The many exciting and interesting programme items deliver interaction, inspiration, fun and entertainment. Here are a few highlights you shouldn’t miss!

The percussionists Claudio and YoYo from the Groove Trotters will carry you away. Stomping, clapping, singing and dancing… You will become part of the performance.

Daan Botlek, a sensational street artist from Rotterdam, exhibits his art that offers different ways of interpretation. Keep on the lookout for his trademark, white figures contradicting all rules of geometry and physic.

Valentina Eberhardt, an artist from Graz, uses biro technique for her beautiful art, at which you can marvel at the Urban Art Festival.

Noah Gessner, the 17-year-old music prodigy, plays music from every genre on his percussion instruments. His passion and talent will make your jaw drop!

The multi-instrumentalist Niki Waltersdorfer from Graz will accentuate the Urban Art Festival Styria with live music. He is also going to present new, unreleased songs!

Yuri Landman, a cartoonist and comic artist from the Netherlands, has been offering workshops at numerous international festivals since 2009. He will be a great addition to the Urban Art Festival.
